What's inside
Lessons, the Clinical Reasoning Lab and interactive case studies are the heart of Physivo — everything else is there to support them.
Bite-sized MSK lessons of 12–18 steps build your knowledge region by region, with matching, ordering, fill-in-the-gap and scenario tasks woven in.
Work through staged cases with progressive subjective and objective reveals. Build differentials and filter by region and difficulty.
Apply what you know in realistic educational scenarios, making assessment and management decisions and learning from the feedback.
Key structures in lesson steps, such as the L4/L5 facet joint or supraspinatus tendon, are tappable. Each tap opens the 3D model focused on that structure, with surrounding anatomy ghosted for context.
Special tests include cited sensitivity, specificity and likelihood ratios. Validated clusters and decision rules show how to rule conditions in or out.
Write structured reflections using Gibbs, Borton, Rolfe or ERA. Tag each one against the four pillars of practice and filter your portfolio by pillar.
Move from Foundations to Core MSK to Advanced MSK, revisiting each region with more depth. Speciality modules cover paediatric MSK and clinical investigations.
Arcade games like Symptom Shooter and Mystery Condition fit quick, clinically accurate practice into spare minutes.
Spiral curriculum
Each tier revisits the same regions with more depth, so knowledge builds rather than resets.
Core MSK, neurological and cardiorespiratory fundamentals, acute care observations, professional standards, safeguarding and communication.
Frontline MSK across 11 regions: cervical, thoracic, lumbar, SIJ and pelvis, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand, hip, knee, ankle and foot, TMJ and systemic.
Tissue mechanics, surgical pathways, complex differentials and multi-morbidity presentations.
Sever's, Osgood-Schlatter, SCFE/SUFE and Perthes, growth plate biomechanics, developmental variants, and red flags kept separate from adult pathways.
Imaging thresholds (X-ray, MRI, CT, ultrasound), injections and their evidence, medicines including analgesics and neuropathic agents, and rheumatological blood tests.
Built for your career and CPD
Write structured reflections with Gibbs, Borton, Rolfe or ERA, tag them against the four pillars of practice, and filter or export them for your HCPC CPD record, Band 5/6 appraisal or university placement portfolio.
Physivo is not accredited by the HCPC or CSP. It helps you organise your evidence; you remain responsible for meeting CPD standards.
Assessment, diagnosis, intervention and management.
Evidence-based practice, clinical audit and research literacy.
Patient education, peer mentoring and CPD.
Service improvement, advocacy and MDT collaboration.
Why Physivo exists
Formal education builds essential foundations. Practice asks you to connect knowledge, decisions, uncertainty and the person in front of you.
Physivo is designed to help learners explore that space actively.
Our direction draws on education research. These sources support the learning principles behind Physivo, not claims about Physivo’s own outcomes.
A 2024 systematic review found that newly qualified allied health professionals may feel underprepared for aspects of clinical practice, particularly responsibility and decision-making.
A strong knowledge base does not necessarily mean feeling fully prepared for the realities of practice.
Brennan et al., BMJ Open (2024)02 · Active recallA systematic review found that retrieval practice and spaced learning can improve academic performance in health professions education.
Learning is strengthened when you actively retrieve information and revisit it over time.
Trumble et al. (2024)03 · Clinical reasoningA 2023 systematic review found that physiotherapy programmes use a variety of methods to teach clinical reasoning, but evidence comparing their effectiveness remains limited.
Clinical reasoning deserves deliberate practice, not just a place between lecture slides.
Cencetti et al. (2023)04 · Purposeful gamificationA systematic review found that gamification can support learning behaviours and engagement in health professions education, although the quality of evidence varies.
Game mechanics should support the learning habit, not distract from it.
van Gaalen et al. (2021)Progress you can feel
XP, levels, streaks and quests create visible momentum around the habit of learning—not a distraction from it.
Why Physivo?
Not simply memorisation.
Not generic medical education.

Why we built Physivo
Physiotherapy is a profession built around learning, but becoming a confident physiotherapist can be harder than it should be. We built Physivo because we felt there was a gap between learning the theory at university, gaining experience on placement and actually feeling confident applying your knowledge to real patients.
WHY WE BUILT PHYSIVO
University gives you the foundations. Placements give you experience. But there is not always enough time to go back over the things you found difficult, practise your clinical reasoning or work through cases at your own pace.
Physivo brings the parts of learning together in one place: lessons that build your knowledge, clinical reasoning challenges that make the thinking behind decisions visible, and interactive cases where you apply what you have learned.
We are building Physivo with physiotherapists and educators, with a focus on evidence-based learning and practical clinical application, because learning does not stop when university finishes.
